English Classes - ESOL
ESOL classes are held in the Williams Building, 180 Walnut Street unless otherwise indicated.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATION ONLY
To ensure that all ESOL students are enrolled in appropriate level classes, we assess potential students' verbal and written skills at the time of registration. Please anticipate the process to take approximately 30 minutes.
Locations: Williams Building, 180 Walnut Street & Chelsea Public Library.
Rosetta Stone Computer Lab - English for all Levels*
Mon & Wed 6-7pm June 12 & 14 $40
English students of all levels who need a flexible schedule or additional practice. A technology-based approach to English learning using the immersion method. Students receive a temporary license to access the program from any computer, smartphone or tablet*. Students have access to the online program until 9/22/2023. *Students simultaneously enrolled in an ESOL class: $20

English for Spanish Speakers - Participants with no English skills
Group A Tues & Thurs 6:30-8:30pm May 16-June 22 $40
Group B Fri 6-8 pm June 9-July 28 $40
Group C Sat 2-4 pm May 13-June 24 $ $40
For Spanish speakers. Slowly immerse yourself into an English language program. Learn the fundamentals of English grammar and basic reading, writing and speaking skills. Participants should continue to ESOL - Beginner.

ESOL Beginner - Participants with limited English skills
Group A* Mon & Wed 6-8pm June 5-August 2 $40
Group B Tues & Thurs 6-8pm June 6-August 3 $40
*includes Rosetta Stone Lab
Learn basic grammar skills, sentence structure, reading skills, and pronunciation. Apply grammar in reading and writing exercises.
ESOL Intermediate - Participants with some English skills
Group A Mon 6-8pm June 5-August 2 $40

Group B Wed & Fri 10-12pm July 11- Aug 10 $40

Group C Tues & Thurs 6:30-8:30pm May 30-July 13 $40

Improve grammar skills using idioms and pronunciation. Apply grammar in reading and writing exercises.
ESOL Advanced - Participants with good English skills
Mon & Wed 6-8pm June 5-August 2 $40
Practice advanced conversation and build a strong vocabulary using real-life scenarios. Writing exercises focus on compound sentences.

ESOL Advanced Reading & Writing - Participants with good English skills
Thurs 6-8pm June 8-August 3 $40
Improve reading and writing skills through comprehension and grammar exercises. An excellent course for those who are planning to attend college or enter the workforce.
